Details:
* WHAT...Heat index values up to 96 expected.

* WHERE...Much of Southern New England, except for the eastern
slopes of the Berkshires, the Rhode Island and Massachusetts South
Coast, Cape Cod and the Islands.

* WHEN...From 11 AM Tuesday to 8 PM EDT Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures, a moderate degree of humidity with
little relief Tuesday night may cause heat illnesses.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...This is the first multi-day period of hot
temperatures. Those not yet accustomed to hot temperatures with a
moderate degree of humidity should take appropriate heat-related
precautions.

Information:
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives, neighbors and pets.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

Details:
The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection has issued
an Air Quality Alert for Ground Level Ozone, from 11 AM to 11 PM EDT
Tuesday.

An Air Quality Alert day means that Ground Level Ozone
concentrations within the region may approach or exceed levels that
are Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups.

Air is unhealthy for sensitive children and adults, such as those
with asthma, lung or heart disease, and older adults. Sensitive
children and adults should limit prolonged outdoor activity.
